Grand Master Dorsey

  • Born in Tatum, Texas
  • Grew up in Monte Vista, Colorado in a foster home
  • All American high school football & basketball player
  • Awarded several scholarships including Yale University
  • Attended university of Hawaii and played football
  • Graduated with a degree in journalism
  • Signed as free agent with New England Patriots of the National Football League - 1979
  • Signed with Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League - 1980
  • Coached 8 years at San Francisco State University under legendary coach Vic Rowen
  • In 1982 began training with Grandmaster Merrill Jung in taekwondo and hapkido
  • In 1984 began training in Sin Moo Hapkido with the legendary Ji Han Jae
  • Received masters degree from San Francisco State University in education
  • Joined a major law enforcement agency - 1991
  • Selected as a California Defensive Tactics Instructor for Law Enforcement
  • Has trained FBI, Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies
  • Guest instructor of the US Army at Fort Bliss, New Jersy during Iraq conflict
  • Currently a founding board member of the Sin Moo Hapkido Legacy Group which is dedicated to preserving all techniques as originally taught by Dojunim Ji Han Jae
  • Received promotion to Grandmaster in Sin Moo Hapkido after 28 years of martial arts at the Hapkido Masters Conference in Korea - 2010
  • Internationally recognized as one of the top instructors in the world
